20 homepage options — research-grounded

This set was rebuilt from evidence, not taste. Eighteen live sites — insurance-agency software neighbors and SMB-SaaS winners — were torn down page by page (hero, word count, screenshot dosage, pricing posture, motion, pitch completeness), the recurring winner patterns became a 100-point scorecard, and every variant below either survived that scorecard or was built to a named winner pattern. Each card shows its evidence.

Scores are research-pattern scores — how closely a variant matches what demonstrably works on those 18 homepages. They are not customer validation; the sell/flow tests come after you cut this to a top 5.

How to choose: the variants are ordered by evidence score, strongest first. Dial it down to your top 5 — then the agent sell/flow tests run on those five.

You can still mix. Sections are swappable blocks across all 20 — note any element you want carried into the final build.

Variant 01 preview

01 The Five-Minute Close

Evidence score 95.0 Rank 1 of 20

The complete sales job inside the winners' time band: every pitch beat, ~5 minutes, three screenshots.

1,011 words ~5.2 min pitch 3 screenshots

Best for: Visitors who should be able to decide from the page alone.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on Better Agency — the only Ring A site that closes on-page (complete arc, ~4.0-min pitch, 8-question FAQ, explicit 3-step start) — with GloveBox's gated reveal (price + live product held for the next step).

Variant 02 preview

02 See It With Your Name On It

Evidence score 95.0 Rank 2 of 20

The demo's centerpiece is an invitation: this welcome screen, carrying your agency's name, logo, and colors.

1,076 words ~5.5 min pitch 2 screenshots

Best for: Producers who buy when they can picture their own clients on it.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on Mercury ('Explore demo' — the product view is delegated to an interactive demo) and Ramp (personalization exchange in the hero: give a detail, get the tailored version). Our version: the tailored reveal is the walkthrough on a real client path.

Variant 03 preview

03 Sticky Walkthrough

Evidence score 91.0 Rank 3 of 20

The client sheet stays pinned on screen while the three steps scroll past it — the product watches you read.

1,099 words ~5.6 min pitch 3 screenshots

Best for: A format swing: maximum product presence with only three screenshots.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Inspired by Linear's continuous product presence through the scroll (one immersive UI narrative). The sticky mechanic itself was not verifiable on any studied winner — tagged experimental.

Experimental Format has no direct winner precedent — a deliberate swing.

Variant 04 preview

04 One-Page Pitch

Evidence score 89.0 Rank 4 of 20

The whole pitch on one short scroll: hero, numbers, steps, screens, form.

1,076 words ~5.6 min pitch 4 screenshots

Best for: The shareable link version — text it to a producer.

Kept from round 1 (was #18)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: the SMB winners' short reads (Loom ~1.1 min, Mercury ~1.5 min, Gusto ~2.0 min pitch-time estimates) — the only round-1 variant near that cluster with all 8 pitch beats and a below-field screenshot count (4).

Variant 05 preview

05 Three Tabs

Evidence score 87.0 Rank 5 of 20

One demo section, three switchable views — the client's, the morning pipeline, the client sheet.

1,162 words ~6.0 min pitch 4 screenshots

Best for: Producers who want to inspect, not scroll — one screenshot per product view.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on EZLynx (verified tabbed product switcher, exactly one screenshot per product) and AgencyZoom (tab-driven page architecture); Stripe's accordion case-switcher is the B2B precedent.

Variant 06 preview

06 The Step-Through

Evidence score 84.0 Rank 6 of 20

The client journey as a guided 4-step walk, with the pain shown as a before/after comparison.

1,266 words ~6.5 min pitch 4 screenshots

Best for: Producers who think in workflows — show me the path, step by step.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on GloveBox — verified 5-step step-through ('The path 01 / 05'), a 6-panel carousel, and the ring's strongest pain beat: a side-by-side today-vs-with-product workflow comparison.

Variant 07 preview

07 The Carousel

Evidence score 84.0 Rank 7 of 20

Three hero-scale screens in one sideways story right under the hero — welcome, pipeline, client sheet.

1,261 words ~6.5 min pitch 4 screenshots

Best for: Scrollers: the demo as a swipe, not a scroll down.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on Gusto's verified 3-slide product carousel ('Slide 1 of 3') in its lead feature block; Jobber's hero carousel and Formstack's rotating carousel are the supporting precedents.

Variant 08 preview

08 Proof, No Pictures

Evidence score 82.1 Rank 8 of 20

Zero screenshots: outcomes, numbers, and the founder carry the whole pitch — the product is the walkthrough's reveal.

1,233 words ~6.2 min pitch 0 screenshots

Best for: Skeptics who discount demo screenshots as staged anyway.

New — built for the grounded set

Evidence: Modeled on Stripe (0 confirmed screenshots; stats and case metrics persuade) and Housecall Pro (0 confirmed screenshots; ratings + growth multiples lead). Product shown is deliberately traded for pull.

Variant 09 preview

09 Quiet Luxury

Evidence score 81.1 Rank 9 of 20

Maximum air, serif-led, half the sections simply absent.

1,155 words ~6.1 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Premium feel; confidence through restraint.

Kept from round 1 (was #16)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: Typeform's copy-light page (~340 words est., visual-led) — restraint as the premium signal; the leanest full-arc page in the round-1 field.

Variant 10 preview

10 Phone Story

Evidence score 78.0 Rank 10 of 20

The client journey as one swipeable strip of phone screens.

1,342 words ~7.0 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Mobile-first visitors; the intake as a story, not a spec sheet.

Kept from round 1 (was #09)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: GloveBox's step-through pacing and Jobber's sparse mobile screenshots (1 confirmed) — the product as a paced story on the phone.

View variant →

Variant 11 preview

11 Solo Shop

Evidence score 78.0 Rank 11 of 20

Founder and who-it's-for move up high; speaks to the one-person agency.

1,392 words ~7.3 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Solo and two-person shops — Mason's beachhead.

Kept from round 1 (was #11)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: AgencyZoom's audience-first architecture — the visitor self-identifies before the feature pitch; who-it's-for sits high.

View variant →

Variant 12 preview

12 Visual Minimal

Evidence score 77.0 Rank 12 of 20

The deepest cut: visuals carry the page, copy is garnish.

1,392 words ~7.3 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: The owner's stated direction — dumb it down, make them look.

Kept from round 1 (was #05)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: the word economy of Typeform (~340 words est.) and Loom (~190 words est.) applied to the current page's own structure and order.

View variant →

Variant 13 preview

13 Demo First

Evidence score 76.0 Rank 13 of 20

The product leads: full-bleed pipeline under the headline, gallery second section.

1,403 words ~7.3 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Producers who decide by looking, not reading.

Kept from round 1 (was #02)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: product in the first screen — Jotform, Typeform, Gusto, and Linear all put the product itself in the hero zone.

View variant →

Variant 14 preview

14 Gallery Wall

Evidence score 75.1 Rank 14 of 20

The demo gallery is the page — six big captures, almost nothing between them.

1,209 words ~6.3 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Pure lookers; the screenshots make the argument.

Kept from round 1 (was #13)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: Calendly — the one dosage outlier (~22 animated UI visuals) — kept so the set honestly tests the saturation strategy; every other studied winner runs 0–5 screenshots.

View variant →

Variant 15 preview

15 Five Reasons

Evidence score 74.0 Rank 15 of 20

The value spine IS the middle of the page; features section deleted.

1,359 words ~7.1 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Visitors who need the argument in five lines.

Kept from round 1 (was #08)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: Better Agency's benefit-block architecture — structured benefit blocks carry the argument; no separate feature grid.

View variant →

Variant 16 preview

16 Scroll Story

Evidence score 72.0 Rank 16 of 20

Alternating visual chapters: demo, pain, process, pipeline — momentum over argument.

1,399 words ~7.3 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Phone scrollers; a page that feels like a product tour.

Kept from round 1 (was #06)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: Typeform's one-big-visual-per-section rhythm sustained across a full scroll.

View variant →

Variant 17 preview

17 Walk the Walk

Evidence score 72.0 Rank 17 of 20

Process first in list form, then the screens scroll sideways like the client journey.

1,367 words ~7.1 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Visitors who ask 'how does it actually work?' first.

Kept from round 1 (was #14)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: GloveBox's 5-step 'clearer path' — the process told first, then the screens as a sideways journey.

View variant →

Variant 18 preview

18 Three-Step Spine

Evidence score 70.0 Rank 18 of 20

The 3-step process is the page's backbone — in the hero and as section two.

1,435 words ~7.5 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Visitors who want the mechanics before the pitch.

Kept from round 1 (was #03)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: the explicit 3-step how-it-works — Better Agency's 'Getting started' and Gusto's 3-step close both name the steps rather than implying them.

View variant →

Variant 19 preview

19 Metrics Muscle

Evidence score 70.0 Rank 19 of 20

The three numbers live inside the hero — proof before paragraphs.

1,387 words ~7.2 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Numbers-first owners comparing tools.

Kept from round 1 (was #15)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: proof in the first screen — Jobber (ratings under the subhead) and Housecall Pro (stats directly under the hero); this variant folds the numbers into the hero itself.

View variant →

Variant 20 preview

20 The Closer

Evidence score 69.0 Rank 20 of 20

Value math and the pre-sale mechanics move up; proof follows the offer.

1,486 words ~7.7 min pitch 6 screenshots

Best for: Warm traffic — producers who arrive half-sold.

Kept from round 1 (was #20)

Evidence: Pattern evidence: pull-through — offer terms stated early (Better Agency) with the reveal gated to the next step (GloveBox); the round-1 field's strongest pull score (15/15).
